W. Atlee Burpee Co.
Philadelphia, Pa

Gentlemen;

Enclosed is my letter for the "prize contest."

The facts are that I am a stenographer in a busy office with little time to spare for anything else, but love gardening. Last year mother and I invested our savings for years in a six room house on the outskirts of the town where we could have our own vegetable and flower garden, moving into it in July. It had been neglected and I never saw such a weed patch. We mowed it over several times and spaded it up in the fall, and again this spring, putting on one load only of fertilizer. We have not hired any of the work done, but have done the work ourselves. I had an operation last fall and recovered but slowly, but as soon as I could get outside and work in the garden my recovery was rapid. This I owe to Burpee's seeds.

I waited thinking I could get a snapshot of the garden and flower beds but have not had a chance to get them taken. Then too I wanted some of my dahlias from seed to blossom, they are all budded nicely.

We are very enthusiastic about Burpee's seeds. I think every one grew, while many of our neighbors had to plant their gardens over as so few of the seeds sowed germinated.

Hoping I may win something in your contest and assuring you that we will continue to use and recommend Burpee's seeds, I remain,

Yours truly,
