Dear Friend,

Being an old customer of yours and noticing your announcement of a prize contest I thought I would enter it.

I have planted seeds from different firms but never had such success in gardening as I have since I order seeds from you. It is such a pleasure to plant seeds from W. Atle Burpee for we feel confident they will grow. The census taker once asked me how much my garden was worth and I said it would be a rather difficult task to estimate its value both on account of its produce and also the pleasure it gives. In the fall when I harvest my crop I have enough to supply the neighbors besides having plenty for ourselves.

Going to and from the depot the people very frequently stop to admire our garden
