Gentlemen:-

Neglected, covered with blackberry vines, tall grass and wild cherry trees,a veritable "tent city"for caterpillars, was the spot now occupied by my garden. The change wrought by Burpee's seeds may be appreciated by the neighbors, but the real advantages are mine. Only a part of these can I relate and keep within two hundred words.

The commercial value of my small garden,21 by 26 feet, may be estimated from the fact that it supplies bountifully my family of three with all fresh summer vegetables except peas.

The physical benefit which I have received from the work of spading, spreading manure, weeding, harvesting &c done to the tune of birds has been far beyond the advantages of any prescribed "daily dozen"done to the rhythm of victrola music.

Last, but not least,my love of Nature has been strengthened by an increasing knowledge of plant life, and by close acquaintance with dozens of bugs and insects whose habits I have learned.

I can best express my appreciation by changing one word in the closing lines of a stanza of one of Carruth's poems:-

"Some of us call it [[underline]] Nature [[underline]]
 And others call it God"

Respectfully yours,
