"For Prize Contest," Page one.

My acquaintance with "Burpee's Seeds" began as a boy over fifty years ago. From then onward, thru the different stages of Hired-man, Bachelor-homesteader, and nearly three decades of happy married life, to the losing of my partner seventeen months ago; while our lovely new "House"; the result of thirty-five years of faithful, intelligent, industry; was taken from me; and I am turned out, penniless, and alone. From boyhood to the present, I have been a persistent user of "Burpee's Seeds" and looking out from what [[underlined]] was [[/underlined]] our home, I see the garden planted [[underlined]] wholly [[/underline]] with "Burpee's Seeds." It is lovely. The best in this district. It is inspiring. "Burpee's Seeds" have given me confidence in the firm of Burpee & Co. An assurance of a satisfactory return for my labor, as far as [[underlined]] they [[/underlined]] are concerned. They have encouraged me to strive for the best. and shown me that the development of beauty and usefulness, in nature are practically limitless. That I am a co-worker with "The God of Nature."
