A large colony from be[[strikethrough]]neath [[/strikethrough]]tween two stones at [[Wanganitre?]] Several from [[Nadairesuatu?]], from rotton logs & beneath stones, but generally between them. The individuals remain still when the nest is uncovered, or move very slowly. They construct a sort of wall, very thin, of mud, about the nest & the brood chambers are separated off. I have some in an observation nest. They are constructing a wall along the sides of the jar [[end page]] [[start page]] 19 ka niu niu Kadavu name for small ant. T. melanocephalum kadi kasivi
