At Anse à la Barbe low cliffs rim the shore which are formed of the Upper Gascons but inland from these is a ridge, the backbone of which is West Point Limestone.  The La Vieille makes high ground from Port Daniel (St George Church) to the north, and in the vicinity of Clemville.
Population of Port Daniel 1776, founded 1855.  Fishing, ls. quarrying, agriculture, a little lumber.

New Richmond - Pop. 2,534, founder 1831.  Mostly farming & lumbering.
