The beds carrying these shells underlie shales that contain ostracods, and Pholidops.

In morning visited yellow branch about 5 miles SE of Rose Hill, Va. Here was an excellent display of Mosheim probably 2 or 300. feet of it.

Collected Tetradium cillulosum about 30' below Mosheim and a
[[left margin]] 577 [[/left margin]]
number of brachiopods below that. Lenoir overlies the Mosheim and contains a few fossils, Lowville with one to two red beds overlies the Lenoir and is about 1000' thick.

In afternoon collected lower Trenton along U. S. 58 about 3 1/4 miles east of
[[left margin]] 575 [[/left margin]]
Cumberland Gap. Here Dalmonella Dinorthis, Sowerbyella were abundant.
