Section 0.6 mile NW of junction 616 and 621 ^[[on Va 616]] on Va 616 showed a long section beginning with Whistle Creek at base, followed by Mosheim. Then comes a Lincolnshire interval in which we found Sowerbyites. This is followed by beds with Nidulites and then comes somewhat shaly ls. with Dinorthis transversa and Oxoplecia in abundance. This is followed by 180' of beds with abundant small Sowerbyella and, 90' above D. transversa, Cyclospira was found. Above the Sowerbyella beds come crystalline ls. with Oligorhynchia and Doleroides. Above the crystalline ls which is fairly thick comes fine shales.

The same sequence appears on a property 0.6 mile SE of the junction of 616 and 621 on Va 621 ^[[on Va 621]]. Here the shaly beds above Oligorhynchia contain Tetradium in lower 25' and a zone of about 3' thickness about 85' above the base of the shale
