Dear Dot:-
You ask me what Burpee's seeds have done for me that I should send so far for my seeds. First and foremost, they [[underline]]always Grow.[[/underline]] What better reason could I give? Then too, such delicious varieties of everything! The catalogue designates the choice varieties, so one can make no mistake in ordering.
I will give you a little of the financial benefits, because I know your mercenary soul. From two pounds of pea seed we had all the peas we could eat and thirty-seven pints canned. Two packages of corn supplied our table and left twenty-four quarts to can. Either one of these more than paid for [[underline]]all[[/underline]] the seeds I bought. Burpee's Stringless Beans bore so heavily that "beans" has become a joke. From one package of mangel-beets I have enough produce to furnish green feed for two-hundred-fifty chickens all winter. A half pound of sun-flower seed makes part of my garden loo like a young forest.
