I have heard of the "Garden of the Gods;" but I have never seen it. I have a garden fit for the Gods to look at, and with the help of the Creator, I have made it a source of both profit and pleasure.
Visiting one winter afternoon in the home of a friend, the conversation turned toward gardening, the season for which was not far away. A Burpee catalog was shown to me. I immediately sent for one, upon my return home. When it arrived at my leisure I made out my order for seeds on the convenient blank which accompanied the catalog. Everything was fully described, and I was informed that I could have free for the asking explanatory pamphlets to guide me in the culture of some plants not so well known to me that I wanted in my garden.
I did not have long to wait for my seeds to arrive. My order had been filled without one mistake, and I had the nucleus for my garden already for planting time.
How those seeds popped thru the ground! HOw the plants have grown! How the wife ^[[and I]] and four kiddies have enjoyed the delicious roasting ears; cucumbers; the golden string beans; the oh so red! beets, 'n other good things galore. ^[["]] Old Man Hi-Cost o' Living ^[["]] is sort of peeved at us, but we don't care we"re so proud of and so happy over our Burpee garden.
