Transcription Notes:
mandc: gtts v = 5 drops
Oij = two pints
Apothecary numbers were written in lower case Roman Numerals with "j" often substituted for "i", esp the terminal letter, so I read this Capsici quantity as 2 ounces.
ss and fs means one-half.
i =1; ii or ij = 2; iij = 3; etc.Cantharidus: sea shell?
I think there is definitely a strikethrough on the Nt - a "t" at the end would not look like this.
Cantharides is not a shell-it's so-called Spanish fly.
mandc: To me the symbol that looks like ?|"Eb" is the author's stylized pound symbol for "lb."
