    3.  What progress has been made in caring for the collections under your custody, i.e., in their preservation and installation.

     On account of the very crowded condition of the exhibition hall [[strikethrough]]and of the office rooms[[/strikethrough]] it has been impracticable to exhibit many interesting series of objects and the entire collection of medals, coins, and portraits are therefore temporarily placed in storage though as far as possible they are left accessible for reference. [[strikethrough]]and study[[/strikethrough]]  The facilities for the proper [[strikethrough]]care[[/strikethrough]] arrangements of the study and duplicate series are entirely inadequate. [[strikethrough]]Though as far as practicable the curator has put on and the curator has been obliged to kept all collections[[/strikethrough]]
     Collections as received have been placed in safe quarters and as far as practicable made immediately accessible.
