    The growing popular interest in American history during the Colonial and Revolutionary War periods suggests that it may be advisable for [[strikethrough]]the advisability of[[/strikethrough] the Museum to [[strikethrough]]make[[/strikethrough]]make special effort to secure and preserve objects [[strikethrough]]of connected with[[/strikethrough]] pertaining to the men and events of those periods.  Mere curiosities are not so much needed as[[strikethrough]]undoubted[[/strikethrough]] fully authenticated relics about which definite historical statements may be made.  The Museum collection is rich in relics of the American Revolution but * sadly needs relics of Colonial history. ?  [[circled]]The recent accession [[underlined]]recent accession[[/underlined]] of costumes and household utensils of Colonial [[strikethrough]]the[[/strikethrough]] days received from the Copp estate of Boston, are already attended to, may properly become the nucleus of a very instructive colonial historical collection.[[/circled]]
     The Museum collection of portraits of eminent Americans now number several thousand [[strikethrough]]and[[/strikethrough]] but is [[strikethrough]]lacking[[/strikethrough]] deficient in portraits of prominent men of [[strikethrough]]more[[/strikethrough]] recent years.
