3.) 30th March 1929. Very hot & sunny all day. Drove to head of Glenmacnass & walked up to L. Ouler & cliffs of Tonelagee, WI. H. [[/strikethrough]] at about 1,500 feet : [[underlined]] a very early date [[/underlined]] !! On cliffs at 2000 to 2,200 ft., where still were drifts of snow took amongst liverworts & mosses a Cynipid. 31st March 1929. (Easter Sunday). Windy & a slight depression passed over, with a good deal of cloud. Spent day in Devil's Glen with Womersleys. One here ? sp. seen : no icks. 1st April 1929. A cold, blustery day with sun clouds & slight showers. Spent most day at Clara, WI. where nothing seen & in afternoon in [[Dargle?]] where nothing seen either. Then home. Ground Ivy in flower in [[Dargle?]]! Blackthorn out near Arklow. [[end page]] [[start page]] 4. 2nd. April 1929. A cold, showery day, with strong N.W wind but a good deal of hot sun. Spent afternoon, with Womersleys, along S. cliffs of Howth, DU. at Drumleck. [[underlined]] Bombus lucorum [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]] seen. [[underlined]] Andrena nigroaenea [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] common. [[line across page]] 7th April 1929. A find mild morning, but depression approaching at 11 AM caused cold & misty rain all day. Drove Palmer's to Ballyhenry, WI., where saw [[underlined]] Bombus lucorum [[/udnerlined]] & [[underlined]] terrestris [[/underlined]] [[2 female symbols]] at willows. Then to Vale of Clara & over Wicklow Gap & home via Blessington, but nothing else seen. [[line across page]] 10th April 1929 (afternoon). with J.A.J. Palmer! Lower Glenasmole & Bohernabreena, DU. Very hot sun, but strong cold N. wind. Too windy for sawflies & none seen. Two icks. seen but not captured (one was ? [[underlined]] Lissonota carbonaria [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]] & at willow). [[underlined]] Andrena clarkella [[/underlined]] many [[2 female symbols]], mostly faded, seen at coomb opp. Mrs Doyles & opposite Brady's. [[underlined]] A. gwynana [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] & very fresh [[2 female symbols]] seen at both places. [[underlined]] A. nigroaenea [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] at first & very fresh [[female symbol]] at second place. [[underlined]] A. sericea [[/underlined]] a few [[2 male symbols]] seen opposite Brady's, just below spot where on 5th April 192 I saw a doubtful [[female symbol]].
