[[strikethrough]] 13th [[/strikethrough]] 14th April 1929.  A dull cold morning with strong cold S.E. wind; clearing at about midday, but a high mist robbed sun of almost all heat & little out but a few [[2 male symbols]] Andrena.  With J.A.J. Palmer!
12 noon till 12.45. Sunny but very cold strong wind. Ballyhenry quarry, WI. Took [[female symbol]] [[underlined]] Nomade leucophthalma [[/underlined]] & Palmer a [[male symbol]] [[underlined]] Andrena nigroaenea [[/underlined]]. [[underlined]] Bombus lucorum [[/underlined]] 1 [[female symbol]] seen.
1.30 till 2.45. Gold mines Valley, WI.  No sun & very cold.  Collected some larvae of Marsh Fritillary but nothing flying.  [[underlined]] Stitchwort [[/underlined]] in flower in hedge on road!
3 pm. till 4 pm.  Sunny & out of wind.

No sign of any Halicti & no [[female symbol]] Andrenas working!
One or two Bombi seen, propably all [[underlined]] lucorum [[/underlined]].
One black, slender, ichneumon, 3/4 inch long, seen but missed!
[[underlined]] Goldilocks [[/underlined]] in flowers at Avoca.
