[[underlined]] Crabro varius [[/underlined]] 
[[wavy line encapsulating above two species]]  taken on Oenanthe.
[[underlined]] Bombus hortorum [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]] seen at Foxgloves.
[[underlined]] Lasius fuliginosus [[/underlined]] as busy as ever!

Afterwards left Kilcarry & drove home via Tullow district & Baltinglass, arriving Dublin at 6.30.  Much morainic ground W. of Tullow!

Sat. 5th July 1930.  A very hot soft day;  all sunny till aft. but dull & very hot after 5pm.  Garden, at Mayfield, Harold's Cross Dublin.  5.30 till 9.pm.
[[underlined]] Megachile willughbiella [[/underlined]] 2 [[2 male symbols]] & 2 [[2 female symbols]] on [[underlined]] Campanula. [[/underlined]] 
[[underlined]] Crabro varius [[/underlined]] common till 8 pm.
Currant Clearwing moth, 1 flying 5.30pm.  1 on leaf 9 pm.  
Several icks & 1 red Braconid:-

Old quarries at Sandyford, Co. DU.  
To look for Colletes, but none seen.  
Several spp. of icks. taken on Heracleum!:-

[[underlined]] Pimpla "robusta" [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]].  [[underlined]] Mesoleius [[/underlined]] [[female symbol]].

6th July 1930  A beautiful day after a dull morning & misty rain till 11 AM.  
11.30 till 2 pm.  Old sand pit facing river at Knockmaroon, Co. DU. as before.
[[underlined]] Bombus muscorum [[/underlined]] [[2 female symbols]].  [[underlined]] B. agrorum [[/underlined]] [[2 virgin female symbols]]  [[underlined]] B. lucorum [[/underlined]] [[2 virgin female symbols]].
[[underlined]] B. hortorum [[/underlined]] 1 [[female symbol]] seen, many [[2 virgin female symbols]], 1 fresh [[male symbol]] on [[underlined]] Hypericum [[/underlined]] 
[[underlined]] Psithyrus [[/underlined]] sp.? a fresh [[male symbol]] seen, possibly [[underlined]] Ps. barbutellus [[/underlined]].
[[underlined]] Andrena jacobi [[/underlined]] 1 very worn [[female symbol]].
[[underlined]] Halictus [[/underlined]] several [[2 female symbols]] seen, probably common spp.
[[underlined]] Hylaeus communis [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] & [[2 female symbols]] abundant, very variable in size.
[[underlined]] Crabro dimidiatus [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] & [[2 female symbols]], latter carrying flies under left hind oxter like [[underlined]] peltarius [[/underlined]] did at Wexford.
[[underlined]] C. varius [[/underlined]] [[2 male symbols]] & [[2 female symbols]].
[[underlined]] C. capitosus [[/underlined]] [[insertion]] ^ 2 [[/insertion]] [[2 male symbols]] & [[insertion]] ^ 2 [[/insertion]] [[2 female symbols]].
[[underlined]] C. tibiale [[/underlined]] 4 [[2 female symbols]], new to Dublin.
[[underlined]] C. quadrimaculatus [[/underlined]] [[male symbol]].
