12.7.30 cont.  Afternoon.  Mostly dull & cool.  Caught several icks about "Merton", WI.

13th July 1930 (Sunday).  SE wind, a depression approaching, mostly dripping!  Fine only in forenoon & for an hour between 5 & 6 pm.  Very heavy rain & gale from 7pm all night.  
Drove to Avoca, Co. WI. & explored old lane on N. side of valley 1/4 N. of Ballyarthur gate.  Here saw or took:-
[[underlined]] Bombus agrorum, lucorum, [[/underlined]] lapidarius (1) [[2 virgin female symbols]].
[[underlined]] Andrena fucata [[/underlined]], worn [[2 female symbols]] (2) on bramble.
[[strikethrough]] [[underlined]] Crabro [[?]] [[/underlined]] 1 [[male symbol]] [[strikethrough]]
[[underlined]] Tenthredella livida [[/underlined]] [[male symbol]] & [[female symbol]].
[[underlined]] Athalia lineolata [[/underlined]] seen.

13.7.30 cont.  Afternoon.  Arklow!
Walked across Kynoch's to first point & back but nothing out:  very windy!

14th July 1930.  Storm continues & mostly raining.  In morning drove to Ennereilly with George & spent an hour at mouth of Redcross River, Co. WI.  Saw many [[underlined]] Colletes picistigma [[/underlined]] on flowers at 1st point S. of river.

15th July 1930  Storm continues after pause in night.  Early morning fine, but dull after 9AM.  Drove to Deputy's Pass, Co. WI., 11.30 - 12.45 noon, where had been sun before my arrival & things just going in on approach of cold drizzle from South :-

[[underlined]] Trichocampus [[eradeatus?]] [[/underlined]] [[checkmark]] RCLP. [[female symbol]] on [[underlined]] Euonymus [[/underlined]]
[[underlined]] Automalus alboguttatus [[/underlined]] [[male symbol]] on W. side of pass near fallen living oak.
