18th July 1930.  Storm continues:  strong NW-W wind & misty rain.  Drove all back to Arklow:  misty rain all the way as far as Redcross, but sun out at Arklow on arrival, though very windy & wind W-SW.  Collected nothing!

18.7.30 cont.  Afternoon:  improving & some good sun bursts.  Drove to Mrs. Cook's egg-farm S. of Inch & back to Arklow.  Collected along roadside on carrots &c.  S. of Inch, WX.

19th July 1930  Storm continues:  very high W-SW wind all night, barometer rising at last, misty rain all morning, getting warmer.  
In afternoon drove to meeting of the Waters, Avoca, WI where collected along railway line from 2.30 till 5pm.  Very hot, very little sun, but flies very bad & most things out.
[[underlined]] Bombus hortorum [[/underlined]] [[male symbol]].  Also [[underlined]] B. lucorum & agrorum [[/underlined]] [[2 virgin female symbols]].
[[underlined]] Psithyrus barbutellus [[/underlined]] [[male symbol]] seen.
[[underlined]] Andrena humilis [[/underlined]] 2 [[2 female symbols]], seem fairly fresh, on [[strikethrough]] Leondoton [[/strikethrough]] [[underlined]] Crepis virosa [[/underlined]] flowers on side of ry. cutting between railway & river above the Castle Howard bridge ([[underlined]] i.e. [[/underlined]] 1st [[insertion]] ry. [[/insertion]] bridge over river N. of Meetings!).  First record outside Cork & Kerry for Ireland & the first specimens I have taken.
