1st Aug. 1930. As bad a day as ever was! Wind SE, E, to NE & heavy rain all day & next night.
Drove to Meeting of the Waters to collect larvae of sawfly seen previously on Hazel leaf, which Dr. Perkins thinks might be [[underlined]] Pteronidea melanochephala [[/underlined]]. 
(later RCLP said it could not be that! AWS).
On 21st June 1931 an ick emerged from one of above which seems to be a [[female symbol]] [[underlined]] Eclytus praeclarus [[/underlined]] Schmied., described in Opuscula p 2559 from a single [[male symbol]]
