5th Oct. 1930. A fine morning but very wind.
Beating for sawfly larvae on Salix, &c in Enniskerry marsh (=1), Kilmacamoge marsh (=2) & The Quill Channel marsh (=3), Co. WI
10-30 till 12-30 noon. In museum in aft. 
At 1 I took three green larvae with pink porsal stripe: ? [[Pteronidae custespina?]], also 1 or 2 deep green larvae which escaped? All on Salix. 
At 2.  One deep green with pinkish tail & 1 dull green with minute spots, latter very small. Salix
At 3. on Birch : 3 or 4 pale green spatulate larvae 
One small ick. beaten out of Salix at 2 &  1 large [[underlined]] Anomalid seen on Angelica but missed at 1.
[One small sp. taken in motor on [[strikethrough]] way [[/strikethrough]] arrival home! = [[underlined]] Orthocentris radialis [[/udnerlined]] [[female symbol]]? ]

[[underlined]] Pontamia [[/underlined]] sp. (probably [[underlined]] P. bella [[/underlined]] : R.C.L.P. in litt 6.4.32) 1 [[male symbol]] em. 6.6.31.

THE FINAL FIGURES.

The results of the egg-laying test (pullets) from the 16th October last to the 16th September, when the final period of four weeks ended has just been issued by the Northern Ireland Ministry of Agriculture. The figures given below, the report states, are subject to alteration when the records are finally checked. An announcement regarding the awards of prizes and certificates will be made in due course. The next Test will commence on 15th October, 1930.
The following table gives the names of owners of pens, and the number of eggs laid by each pen :-
