11th Nov. 1930. A fine sunny day, but with very cold W. wind. 2.30 till 4.0 pm.
Glen above Enniskerry (1/2 a mile), Co. WI.
About a couple of dozen icks. & braconids beaten of ivy blossom, hazel, oak &c. (mostly off ivy!)

Sp? near [[underlined]] Plectiscus [[/underlined]] [[insertion]] Plectiscus niger [[/underlined]] Först ? (= [[underlined]] communis [[/underlined]] var. Thoms.). [[/insertion]], like but not, [[underlined]] Phrudus [[/underlined]], 1 [[female symbol]] with very long terebra.
[[underlined]] Pezomachus [[/underlined]]  [[female symbol]] beaten out of ivy.

15th Nov. 1930. A wet morning & a cold clear afternoon!
Drove Dr. K. Kevan (Edinburgh) to Mountmellick, QC. to look for [[underlined]] Vertigo genesii [[/underlined]] &c. Passed some very nice ground for insects between Ballybritta & mountmellick canal, round about Emo Park.
No hymenoptera seen during the day.

16th Nov. 1930. A glorious day, after a very stormy wet day & bitter cold night. First snow on the hills & Secawn almost white.
Much sun up till 2 pm & quite hot in shelter.  With E. O'M.
Drove via nun's Cross to Clara, Co. WI.
[[underlined]] Vespa vulgarius [[/underlined]] [[2 virgin female symbols]] very busy at ivy blossom near nun's Cross.
In oak wood below Clara Bridge & especially behind the sand flat & about the Crony Burn icks. abundant at ivy blossom & also beaten off [[underlined]] Vaccinium [[/underlined]] &c. OMahony & I also got about a dozen in rotton logs in hibernation.
[[underlined]] Stenichneumon defrandator [[/underlined]] ? 3 [[2 female symbol]] in [[underlined]] hibernation [[/underlined]].
[[underlined]] Exephanes occupator [[/underlined]] ? [[2 female symbols]] in hibernation 
Two other species of Ichneumonidae (vol. 1) in hibernation
