the year has been devoted to the
labelling of ^[[the]] collections placed on 
exhibition, with written labels and 
I am glad to be able to state that this
important task is nearing its completion. 
All the specimens on the eastern
side of the hall have thus been provided 
for, and of those on the western side only
a comparatively small part is still unlabelled. 
If the work caused by the World's 
Columbian Exposition, had not interfered,
it is quite likely that the labelling would
have been completed by this time. That 
part of the collections which is not on 
exhibition is still awaiting its definite
arrangement and classification, and 
this holds good also of the duplicates 
on hand.

As stated in previous reports, the 
material so far gathered is hardly fitted
