Very beautiful day - Like Spring -
Finest day we have had for the year -

Both Collieries [[strikethrough]] worked [[/strikethrough]] idle to day R.R. Co. not running cars -

Have a few men working at both Collieries -

Coal trade is very very poor -The working people around here are suffering for the want of more work etc. A "Relief' fund has been organized in Mahanoy City, and it is supplying many families with food etc - It is a long time since times were, as poor as at present - Collieries are only working about 2 days per week - If the coal trade does not take a boom soon, it will cause a great deal of suffering here and in the surrounding towns -

Mr. Jones wrote Mr Kishbaugh yesterday that there is entirely too much telephoning, to change orders etc. It is growing to be a nuisance - No objection to phoning for to countermand, but orders should be sent up so that the shippers can understand it - Afraid there will be a big blunder some day, through misunderstanding by phone -

Snowed a little last night - merely covered ground - Foggy, chilly - and sleet in the air at times - Cleared up at 1 PM. Sun came out - At 6 PM pleasant -

1- Both Collieries idle R.R. Co not running cars -
Pennsylvania is restricting greatly -
Reading run cars two days this week. .LV. 3 days. Morea only worked 2.9 days this week - Something very unusual -

2- Have 4 men working at the 1st Lift latches on Vulcan Slope - At that point the cars jumped the track one day last month [[strikethrough]] and [[/strikethrough]] which resulted in stopping the Colliery for that day -

3- At Buck Mountain we have a few men unloading the Locomotive, that came from Shawnee Ohio - Price 800. [[insertion]] not [[/insertion]] delivered -12000. lbs Everybody else suspended, even the 2 Coal Inspectors -

4- Mr. Snell, representing the "Sturtevant" people, called to day to see where we want the forced draft fan placed etc - We are thinking of placing one of these fans in Vulcan boiler house -

Everything quiet -
