The daily papers state that Park Place Colliery, belonging to Leutz Lilly & Co., will be sold to the Lehigh Valley Coal Co.

Some of todays papers, March 22, say it is false -

"Trailing Arbutus" has been found in full bloom on Hazleton Mountain - Very early- I am positive that there is none ^[[insertion]] in [[/insertion]] bloom on these mountains -  [[underlined]] JMR  [[/underlined]]

Pleasant this morning- Sky darkening at 10am - Raining gently from 10.30 to 12 oclock- Raining now and then this PM -

1- Both Collieries are idle - R.R. Co not running cars -
2- JMRichards is at work today- Home all of last week - sick -
3- We have a few men working at both Collieries.
4- Are cleaning out the coal pockets of both breakers.
5- Mike Meyers is on the sick list- not here since 19th
6- Received the heating pipe and connections to heat Vulcan breaker-  The steam discharged from Jigs will be used -

7- Received a blue print of plan of placing pipe and fan in Vulcan Boiler House, for forced draft - Have not fully decided whether to [[strikethrough]] be [[/strikethrough]] equip the boiler plant there with a fan or not - (Sturtevant people we are corresponding with)

8- The new locomotive at Buck Mountain is now down in the 3rd East- Ran it in and brought out a trip one day last week.

9- The 3rd West Tunnel at B.Mtn. has struck the south dip- Rock dipping 7[[degree symbol]] south -
