Pleasant this morning - A wee bit colder than yesterday -
somewhat threatening now and again during the day -

Both Collieries worked 9 hours -

Dan Thomas met Mr. Jones here this morning - per agreement - Dan and his son David were here this P.M.

Mr Jones complained to Delano this PM. inregard to having all of our coal taken out of the Collieries every morning - Left 11 cars in at Vulcan this morning that we loaded yesterday - Engineer and crew said they "had no time"-- This is a growing evil - We also had some shifting to be done, but they "had no time" After some coaxing etc [[strikethrough]] they [[/strikethrough]] Delano promised to send an engine it -

Both Collieries are making good hoists - averaging over 40 per hour (Coal)

Pleasant all day - Cold last night -
Snow has long disappeared -

Both Collieries idle - R.R. Running cars, but we received our allotment for the week, during the 2 days we were working -

We have quite a number of men working at both Collieries.

Everything quiet -

A mule died this morning at Buck Mountain Colliery, inside at the bottom of the manway, on the 3rd Lift. The mule worked yesterday - Powell saw it in team about 3 oclock PM and it seemed to be well, apparently. Stable boss said it ate and acted allright in stable this morning. Cindy Sweeney driver came for this mule this morning, to take it down on the fourth lift. After it reached the 3rd lift it refused to go further and laid down and died - No marks or wound can be seen on it - Do not know what caused it to die [[strikethrough]] so [[/strikethrough]].
