Threatening Rain this morning - Cleared up - Sun came out - A Little windy this evening - otherwise pleasant -

Both Collieries worked 10 hours - Embargo sheet stated this morning that the L.V. would run cars 2 days this week, Monday & Tuesday - We loaded all our cars today - for the two days; hence we will be idle until next week - From bad to worse -

Mr. Jones went up to Buck Mountain, this morning, to see Mr. Williams, the "L.V." Inspector - This meeting was prearranged - Mr. Williams reported to Mr. Lathrop about our locomotive in the 3rd East, and stated that it was liable to set fire to the mine etc. Mr. Jones wrote Mr. Lathrop about it and told him that the locomotive had a spark arrester; that the timbers were wet and damp; and that we had as much at stake as the Land Owners; etc. Mr. Lathrop must have instructed Mr. Williams about it, as Williams wrote Mr Jones for to meet him - This locomotive we have taken out of the third lift and it is now outside, doing the work between both slopes, etc - Took it out on account of the fall or squeeze in the 3' East -

Are still timbering in the 3' East - Not working that gangway yet -
