Both Collieries working -  

Trying 2nd East New bottom at Buck Mtn this AM. Cars off - Only hoisted 156 this AM Mr Jones gave orders to hoist direct to surface as they have been doing heretofore, and let the new bottom for "idle" days -  Vulcan hoisted 216 cars coal this forenoon -

Clem Trescot, a very old resident of New Boston, died early this morning -  Lives in old store -  Was running locomotive on first lift at Buck Mtn - 

L.V. furnished us with 22 cars ([[underline]] 22 [[/underline]] 4/4) to-day here at New Boston, for to load Buck Wheat coal therein -  Smaller sizes of coals are in demand -  Will load all the B Wht that is now here at New Boston

Cut the [[strikethrough]] middle [[/strikethrough]] bottom split of the mammoth Vein, south dip, in the 3rd West #4 tunnel at Buck Mtn - Vein not uncovered yet -
