Pleasant all day - Warm this P.m.

Vulcan Colliery worked exactly 9 hours to-day and hoisted 439 Cars of coal in that time -
Buck Mountain worked 8 hours - Ran out of coal - Are very short of coal at B-Mtn.
Having opened up the small veins there, we want to work them, and miners do not like to work breasts there. Are a little short of miners - At Vulcan we have always had trouble in keeping miners at work in some of the smaller veins -

Cars are scarce - Received 27 at Vulcan and 26 at BMtn, while our allotment is 75 per day - 'twould be better all around if the Rail Road Co. would increase the allotments per day, and decrease the number of days to work -, as now [[strikethrough]] if [[/strikethrough]] we have to figure in distributing the cars, so that we can work or lay idle, as the amount of coal in the breakers rules -
