Both Collieries worked 9 hours - 

Some of our men at Buck Mountain wanted to cause a strike there this morning.  These men on 4th Lift wanted 7[[cent symbol]] more per car.  After some delay they went inside - It was reported on Saturday, that Vulcan men were to have a meeting and that BMtn men had been invited to attend- 

The strike in the Hazleton Region is almost ended.  Every Colliery but 2 started up this morning -  Expect everything to be quiet and orderly soon - Soldiers are there yet - 

Struck the Skidmore Vein in the Tunnel on the 1st Lift at Vulcan, west side from C. to D Veins. Vein has not been opened up yet - 

The 2nd Air Locomotive has now been started to work on the [[overwritten]] 4 [[/overwritten]] 3th Lift -  Powell reports that it works good. -  In a few days we will make things hum on the 3' and 4th Lifts -
