Pleasant all day -

Both Collieries worked 10 hours -

This week we will receive all the cars we want, and will be a test week for the L.V. Co. to see how many cars we can load per day - Buck Mountain is a little short of coal and miners; steam is scarce, as the boiler plant is inadequate since we started the Air Compressor - Boiler and fresh water is scarce - Vulcan is short of steam and waters, although they average over 40 mine cars of coal per hour - Buck Mountain is doing comparatively poor, only averaging about 37 cars per hour - We are erecting boiler plant at each Colliery i.e.; we are putting in more boilers - The ditch for the 4" line of pipe from the new artesian well at Vulcan, is being pushed towards BMtn Colly.

We receive over half of the RR Cars in the afternoon, sometimes near evening and we are obliged to keep the Loaders working overtime to load them -

Bottom Split Miners at Bmtn quit again today - Mr. Jones met them outside and agreed to pay them 1 [[underlined]] 07 [[/underlined]] [[cent symbol]] At Vulcan the rate is 97[[cent symbol]]
