November, Tuesday, 16, 1897 Tempt +50° and Barometer 28.45 @ 73/a " +54° " " 28.37 @ 6 Pm Sunshine and showers - all day - Rain and wind 6 Pm - Vulcan worked only 8 1/2 cars - short of coal - miners not out - Buck Mountain worked only 9 hrs no coal - We are receiving all the cars we want - Gondolas are scarce, and we are having a great deal of trouble on this score - Have spoken to Delano several times - They say the gons are being sent to other divisions - they do not get them - Embargoed to 20 cars per day from B Mtn to Perth Amboy - Vulcan to MH&Co to Perth Amboy 2 cars - No Embargo on Wilbur to HTK to Perth Amboy - Have from 10 to 20 cars standing at Buck Mountain Embargoed every day - Mr Kishbaugh came up to Buck Mountain this Pm to look over Buck Mountains coals and see for himself how its is prepared - November, Wednesday, 17, 1897 Tempt +44° and Barometer 28.76 @ 73/a " +34° " " 28.75 @ 6 Pm Somewhat cloudy this morning - clears and cool this Pm - Colder this evening Vulcan worked 9 1/2 hours } no coal BMtn " 9 " Buck Mountain is doing very poor - Vulcan manages to hoist over 40 per hour while they work, and they shut down before it runs below this - BMtn it seems runs along until they run completely out of coal -
