November, Wednesday, 24, 1897 Tempt +28 and Barometer 28.78 @ 73/a " +26 " " 28.78 @ 6 Pm Pleasant - snow covered ground - Vulcan worked 10 hours BMtn " 10 " Steam low as both Collieries - This weather, apparently, effects the steam plants - The new nest of boilers at Buck Mountain is fired up, but has only a natural draft, the piping from the fan blower has not been connected - Will have it connected this week - we are not loading our allotment of RR Cars, as we cannot get enough coal up to load them - November, Thursday, 25, 1897 Pleasant all day - Threatening Rain or snow this evening Both Collieries idle - Vulcan run through 10 cars condemned coal - most of the miners working at Buck Mountain, about half working at Vulcan Clerks here in office worked few hours this morning only - stoves closed at 930Am
