Very cold this morning - snowed to-day - or rather we had sleet - Everything covered with ice -

Both Collieries started up this morning -

Mr. Evans is at "Buck Mountain" to-day -
Was at home sick last week -

Both Collieries worked 8 hours - The Vulcan breaker was frozen up this morning - Things ran stiff for a while - At Buck Mountain, the water in tail pipe of Breaker Pump was frozen and Colliery did not get started until 8 oclock - Mr Jones talked the matter over with the Bosses -

Night shift at Vulcan will be suspended after to-night -

We have several gangways there on double shift; have 3 or 4 drivers and patchers, a man loading rock, a hoisting Engineer, and 4 men outside unloading rock - all night shifts - On account of the few days to work we can dispense with this night work, and will hoist the rock on idle days - Buck Mountain has a man working at night cleaning the slopes and repairing slope rolls, etc - This is necesary, in a way - put it off also -

Condemned 10/4 cars Bu. Egg stove & nut at "Vulcan" -
