Gave the contract to Daniel Brida, to drive the tunnel on the 3' Lift at Vulcan, from [[?Burton]] Vein to Top Split of Mammoth, south dip -

Harry Huntzinger of the L.V. Engineering Dept. List Clerk, was here this morning, by appointment, to talk over the proposed tunnel at Buck Mountain Colly., in the Eastern end of the East 3' Lift [[?Burton]] Vein; the tunnel proposed is one from the Bottom to top split of Buck Mountain Vein, on account of the difficulty in getting cars up the top split gangway - the grade there in one part is very heavy -

Hope to have better times next year -
