The highest number on the catalogue on June 30, 1894, having been 5500, and the highest number to-day being 5561, it follows that the number of accessions during the six months ending Dec. 31, 1894, was 61. As, however, some of the entries include more than one specimen, the total number of specimens received during the period named may be placed at about 70.
