"For Prize Contest"

Last year I raised McGee tomatoes with fairly good success, but this year I decided to try several kinds to see which would do best in this climate and soil.
The kinds selected were, [[Earlioid?]]. Blight Resister, Everbearing, Stone and Burpee's Matchless.
I planted the seed in March, and transplanted to the garden the last of May.  As soon the laterals began to show in the leaf [[avils?]] I pinched them out and tied the main stick to poles with soft strings.
