[[underlined]] FOR PRIZE CONTEST [[/underlined]]

My garden, in the midst of neighboring August-seared, drouth-burned gardens, is a miracle of freshness and bloom. Zinnias, blood crimson, burning orange, palest primrose, pink glistening white, rich rose and lavender, a sun dial matted in snapdragons- the essence of captured sunshine with Amber Queen and Canary against Sunnybrook-, velvet blue petunias, scabiosa, pinks, flaming marigolds, smoky blue sage make a garden intoxicating in its vividness, Visitors gasp, "how do you do it?" I reply, " Good seed- Burpee's." No amount of water, cultivation, debudding will produce flowers of stamina and perfection from mediocre seed. I have tried.
