"For Prize Contest"

As 100 words is much to small a space to tell of all my results from my Burpee's Seeds I select the two that pleased me most.

I. "Burpee's Sunrise Mixture Early Flowering Spencer Sweet Peas."

Planted the first week in May in heavy soil - germination good - even - quick first blooms July 20 - ten days a head of my other Spencers. Flowers large- fine colors - still blooming profusely. A most vauled addition to my garden where early flowering varieties of flowers are appreciated, as our seasons somtimes ^[[are]] short.

II. "Burpee's Fordhook Hybrids Gladioli Seed"

Planted 3rd week of May - in heavy soil - germination quick - 75%. Ground a little too cold at first for quick growth; but grew fast and rank beginning last of June. At present writing, ^[[Aug 15]] none have bloomed, but some are showing signs of budding A most interesting thing to grow from seed.

[[underline]] P.S. [[/underline]] Altho we are in a great wheat growing area, we also have a large flower & vegtable garden having over 40 varieties of flowers and 20 kinds of vegtables. We are on the open prairie - so think our results are very satisfying. - As our wind break is not high enough to give much protection as yet from the winds.

I remain,
Yours Respectfully,
Mrs. Wm. A Rehill,
