FOR PRIZE CONTEST.

I planted a variety of your vegetable seeds this year, and I know from experience that Burpee's seeds surely [[underlined]] do grow. [[/underlined]]

I especially mention Burpee's Fordhook Muskmelon. From one small packet of seed I obtained forty-two plants. Twenty-nine melons are now almost matured. Thirty-six more melons are still growing, and the vines are covered with blossoms.

The vines are strong, hardy, and do not spread very much. The melons are firm and of medium size. I was late in planting, otherwise I would have ripe melons now.
