Gents,
I wish to write concerning the result of your seeds purchased from you this Spring. First of all I must say I have always had your seeds whenever I could procure them in England, Saskatchewan Canada, & Victoria. While on the Prairies I made many converts to your good seed house, & from this part several I have recommended are now constant buyers from your firm.
Your new strain of Sweet Peas are wonderful, I had three collections & if choosing them myself I could not have made a better choice of colours. They are much admired by all. The exquisite colours you have now in the Salpiglossis it seems almost impossible to get more their voles glories are the wonderment of all. The fairee Poppy you sent for trial I think are quite a new departure & their colours very dainty. I always wanted to test the germination of Northern & Southern grown seeds. I had a packet of your best Carnation seeds, & had saved some of my own I sowed them both at the same time, & your Southern grown beat mine in coming through by 48 hours, & likewise flowered earlier, & all the same type of Border Carnations. You Garden Peas were also up earlier & bore ripe peas sooner. Tomatoes all sown at same time, your seed was up one day ahead of my own (which all originated from you). The vegetable seeds in general came up wonderfully even & well but unfortunately the cutworms & extreme drought played havoc with them. Until a week ago we have only had .16 of inch of rain since April third week.
