Enclosure by G.W. Stone Royal Oak Victoria B.C. Sept 1925. When looking for my garden's needs, My thoughts at once turned on to seeds; To take the place of grass & weeds, Of course I wanted garden peas, And wrote at once, the firm "Burpees" To help me o'er my difficulties. I also bought a few collections. And many are my recollections Of delighted friends, and then reflections. They came to me with swinging stride, When, heavy laden, me espied, With packets hanging at my side. I said this firm is famed indeed For every packet of this seed. Of this, I'll have you take much heed. I very soon sold out my store, And only one thing made me sore, I wished I had a thousand more. The potatoes too, are quite a treat They're just the kind you'll want to eat; Firm, full of flavour, hard to beat. I've had one [[?sent]] for twenty years. It has many a time paid store arrears, For that potatoe, I give three cheers. I love it too, so smooth & round. Am sure to dig it ripe & sound. It's named "Eureka," meaning found. So every one can be at ease. When planting Sweet or Garden peas, The seeds have come straight from "Burpees"
