W. Atlee Burpee Co.,
Philadelphia, Pa.

Gentlemen:
For almost the entire growing season, this section of the South has been gripped by the most severe drouth which has ever been experienced. In this town, tanks and wells alike are barely supplying drinking water, but, in spite of the dry weather and the scarcity of the water which they receive, my petunias, moon-flowers and other flowers which came from Burpee's have never ceased to bloom. The colors have been beautiful and the wealth of bloom in my small yard has been a source of never-ending comment and praise from all neighbors and passersby.
