I have planted your Mainstay-Early from its introduction and we consider it the finest all-around cabbage. Invariably solid, early, always tender and fine-flavored, its sweet delicious quality is unsurpassed even under adverse weather conditions. Each spring, I make but one sowing, yet being practically burst-proof and withstanding neglect, it stands until late in the fall when we bury the surplus where it is easily accessible, and it keeps perfectly till late in spring.

Thus Mainstay supplies us with superior-quality cabbage for about nine months of the year. It also makes excellent sauer kraut.
