"For Prize Contest"

"Mrs. Albert Davis, Annisquam, Mass," had a beautiful garden. People [[strikethrough]] would [[/strikethrough]] asked her, "how is it you have such large handsome pansies, your sweet-peas grow so high and cover both sides of the trellis, and your verbenas and petunias so rich in color and so vigorous?"

She [[strikethrough]] would [[/strikethrough]] answered "Buy Burpee's Seeds," You have something perfect to start with. Weed and water every day. Pick off [[strikethrough]] all [[/strikethrough]] the dead heads. Keep earth lose around plants. Give lots of flowers away. I've haven't used any seeds except "Burpees" for over ten years. Do exactly as he tells you and you will have good luck"

Mrs. Carrie Delafale,
56 Kittredge St.,
Roslindale, Mass.

P.S This was true about my grandmother's garden!
