From Burpee seeds planted in March 1924, I have beautiful carnations. The plants are in pots on an East porch in plenty of sunlight. They are hardy, easily kept and resistant to drought, heat and cold. They have bloomed continuously since five months old. The finest specimens have come this summer since the plants are in their second year. The white and pink flowers are perfectly double; very fragrant; some measure two inches across and are borne on graceful stems fifteen inches long. I pinch all buds except two to a plant, give liquid manure a week before opening.
