In answer to your communication of 9th inst requesting the name or names of Officers of the Veteran Reserve Corps on duty in the Bureau in this State who can be spared for assignment elsewhere, I have the honor to report that after a careful enquiry and in view of recent resignations and musters out, I cannot in justice to the interests of the Bureau recommend any transfers without having recourse to the appointment of Civilian Agents which I do not consider advantageous.

I am directed by the Act Asst Commissioner to enclose herewith discharge papers of Wm Reed late of A. Co 1st Regt U.S.C.T. and second Auditors Certificate for fifty six dollars & forty cents ($56.40/100) being the amount of difference in pay due him from the Government.
Enclosed also find form of Application for Additional bounty he being further entitled to $50.00
