In the mean time if necessary I can direct the issue of subsistance to herself and children to prevent immediate suffering and endeavour to provide a temporary shelter. From a recent conversation with Bvt Brig Genl Sewell A.A.O. Genl I infered that it was the intention of the Commissioner to relieve Bvt Col A.G. Brady Maj V.R.C. from duty.
Col Brady having returned from leave of absence and resumed his duties as Supt I respectfully report the fact & await further instructions.

I am directed by the Acting Asst Comr to invite your attention to a request from Bvt Col M. Cogswell Actg Supt &c of Dec 4th for the detail of an enlisted man as orderly at his headquarters in this city which was transmitted from these Hd Qrs on 5th with a recommendation that the detail be made and to again respectfully request that the application be complied with.

In answer to your communication of Oct 19th ulto in relation to whereabouts of Certain Colored people, I quote language of Asst Supt at Goldsboro N.C.
"This family inquired for are living in the town of Wilson Wilson County N.C. are doing well and any communication for them can be addressed to Mr. Benjamin Woods or to his care at Wilson".
Your communication having been mislaid the name of the family cannot be given.
