Captain By direction of the Acting Asst Comr I enclose transportation orders as requested except orders covering subsistence stores in which case the Qr Mr has requested instructions of the Commissioner. Sir In order to conform to recent instructions from Bureau Hd Qrs requiring all Agents to be appointed by the Commissioner, your name was sent to Washington for the proper papers which by order of the Atg Asst Comr are herewith transmitted. General Pursuant to instructions contained in your communication of Mar 27th ulto addressed to Maj Genl Robinson in reference to pay of Clerks at these Hd Qrs I have the honor to submit the following list with the present rate of pay per Month - Oscar Eastrand Chief Clerk A.C. $125.00 Geo O. Spooner Clerk to Surg in Chf 125.00 Chas L. Robinson " [[ditto for: Clerk]] Asst Comr 100.00 J.H. Archdeacon " " " [[dittos for: Clerk Asst Comr]] 100.00 I respectfully recommend that the salary of Mr Chas L Robinson be fixed at One hundred and twenty five dollars ($125) per Month and while I do not desire to be extravagant in the expenses of the Bureau I would also recommend that Mr J.H. Archdeacon also be allowed the same increase as he is a reliable and faithful clerk. Increase to date from April 1st 1867.
