Bureau of Refugees Freedmen &c
Hd Qrs Asst Commissioner
Raleigh N.C. June 18th 1867

Bolenius Maj A.W.
Sub Asst Comr
Greensboro N.C.

Major

The Asst Commissioner directs me to return enclosed requisitions for Subsistance Stores as they are considered excessive. The Chief Qr Mr reports having shipped recently a considerable amount of stores to you in addition to which you report a large quantity in hand of Post Commissary which is disposable.
The issue of rations under "special relief fund" does not contemplate the issues from Subsistance department being suspended but was intended to reach cases not heretofore provided for by the Bureau.
To fill the enclosed requisitions it would require an expenditure of Ten thousand dollars for stores alone.

Very respectfully
Your Obdt Servt
Jacob F. Chur
Bt Lt Col A.A.A.G.
