Captain,

I have the honor to report that [[strikethrough]] the [[/strikethrough]] various Counties of this State have been arranged in Districts for Bureau Government so as to conform as [[ink smudge]] nearly as possible- to the various Military sub-divisions of the State.  [[Footnote 1]]

With a view to greater facilities for performing the duties of the Bureau and assisting Post Commanders- I respectfully request that authority be given and instructions be given to Commanding Officers of Posts to provide one or two horses- to such Bureau Officers as may require the same they need not be turned over to Bureau simply placed in its charge  There at the various military posts from twelve to twenty four horses and by such temporary transfers much benefit will occur not only to the Bureau but corresponding advantage to Post Commanders from the observations and investigations resulting from facilities thus offered.
